2. How we use it
- Create and manage bidder accounts.
- Verify identity, reduce fraud, and enforce auction rules.
- Process bids, payments, receipts, and post-sale support.
- Send transactional messages such as outbid notices, invoices, and pickup instructions.
- Improve platform reliability and buyer experience.
- Comply with legal, tax, and financial record obligations.
We do not sell personal data and we do not send marketing emails without consent.
3. Identity documents
ID documents are stored with encryption and access is limited to authorized staff who need them for verification, fraud review, or compliance. Documents may be retained for at least 5 years where applicable rules require it.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use necessary cookies for authentication and security. Local storage may keep interface preferences. Disabling cookies may prevent sign-in or bidding.
5. Processors
- Google OAuth / Identity Services for optional sign-in and review attribution.
- SMTP and notification providers for transactional messages.
- CRM tools for internal lead and support workflows.
- Cloud hosting providers for infrastructure and backups.
6. Retention and deletion
Account data remains while your account is active. Deletion requests are handled within 30 days except where transaction, KYC, tax, or legal records must be retained. Aggregated analytics may be retained without identifying you.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. No system is perfect, so we recommend a strong, unique password and prompt reporting of suspicious account activity.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your data. Send requests to info@cars-auction.com.
9. Updates and contact
