Looking for an SUV/Compact SUV

Hello, I’m kinda new to carspajctkl but I’m attempting something kinda risky. I know a fair bit from doing research but I want to buy a car on a good deal from cars-auction (Repo) and export it to Tunisia (North Africa. I’m not even in the US, but cars here are mad expensive and or customs allows you to import a foreign car that’s under 5 years old, Tax exempt and customs free every 10 years if you live abroad. My sister happens to have that exemption. And I want to find a good deal, have it shipped here all for under $14k. What do I need to know and am I delulu?

I know a lot about cars and I’m considering a Kia sportage/Hyundai Tuscon/ (Sorento is a reach) open for suggestion !!

Appreciate any help

So accounting for fees and international shipping you're going to probably need to find a car for a winning bid like $7,000. Good luck finding something with minimal damage or a repo that's only 5 years old.

Do your due diligence on the export/import, from what I know, custom fees are voided if a citizen returns to home country and his residency abroad is terminated. Some countries require you to register with a consulate as the only form of proof for your foreign residence. Also learn what happens to the car after it’s cleared with Tunisian customs; some countries would temporarily restrict the sales of such a vehicle. Check local rules on homologation and EPA standards . US market vehicles are different, you’d have to find out if your vehicle is in compliance Don’t go with Korean brands, they don’t hold their value. If you want to make money selling it in Tunisia, go with Toyota, Honda or Mazda.
